The World Poker Tour Starts this weekend

Most poker players in NJ are looking forward to September. This is because every year, the Borgata hosts its Poker Open live tournament series. This series gives players of all bankroll a chance at brushing up on their skills. Or to compete with the best for a share of the cash.

But this year, things are a little different. With that said, the Borgata Casino isn’t ready to call poker off totally. Instead, they’ve teamed up with one of the biggest poker brands in the world to offer an online alternative. Meaning they’ll host the first-ever WPT online series in New Jersey.

The tournaments start this weekend on September 13th. The combined prizepool could see the top dogs winning a share of $275,000. Yet, everyone knows that the prizepool can increase. After all, last year’s event attracted 868 players, totaling $317,540. But will the online alternative be as popular?
