The New York game provider, Scientific Games, has just hired Cathryn Lai as SVP and General Manager for the US to strengthen its Digital business unit.
Before moving to SG Digital’s team, she held the role of SVP of products marketing and gaming operations at the company’s gaming division. She had this role for 5 years. Previous to this, she was the Senior Director of Product Management at WMS Gaming for 7 years. However, Scientific Games bought out the company back in 2013.
All and all, her new role will offer up several challenges. Mainly, she’ll be a key player in the company’s US operations. Plus, she’ll follow up on many commercial deals with new sports betting partners and iGaming products. And as you know, these 2 verticals have seen significant growth recently.
A real talent
The Group CEO at SG Digital, Jordan Levin, spoke of Cathryn’s “talent and expertise” in the industry. So, he’s very much looking forward to welcoming her to SG’s digital department. Moreover, he said that “demand across the US continues at pace.” He puts this down to their major deals with companies like Fanduel, Hard Rock, and NetEnt. Levin said that Cathryn Lai’s expertise would be very valuable to their customers and build and deploy top-end solutions all across the US.
Keeping momentum going
Of course, Cathryn Lai is incredibly happy with the move and said that she is delighted to join Scientific Games’ digital team. What’s more, she is looking forward to getting the chance to work with all Scientific Games customers.
Indeed, right now, they already have great momentum across sports betting and the online gambling industry in the US. So, she can work towards growing the US market and strengthening their relationships even further. Plus, she can showcase the power of the company’s technology and services.
