Scientific Games (SG) is a world renown game provider for online and offline casinos. They’re also pioneers when it comes to table games, lottery, and video slot. As you’re probably already aware, SG is a company that trades on NASDAQ. Which means SG has to advertise any structural changes to the company, just to keep the shareholders in the loop. And changes there’s been a lot of in the past weeks!
New CEO takes the Helm of the company.
Recently, the company made a big announcement. Barry Cottle, who is now CEO of SG Interactive, will become the Company’s new President. He starts very shortly on June 1, 2018. Cottle will replace the President and CEO, Kevin Sheehan. For now, Sheehan will remain with the company as a senior advisor.
Even more changes within the company.
Moreover, Tim Bucher, who was the SVP and GM of the Consumer Solutions Group at Seagate Technology, will become EVP and CPO for all SG’s business divisions. Overall, the company has proven to be efficient. Also, SG clearly adapts to take full advantage of the growing marketplace.
How it all came to be
In short, Kevin Sheehan took over after Bally and WMS merged to become one company. He moved to the newly created company, Scientific Games, forward into new markets. The company became the leader in free-to-play and online gaming, under his leadership. Barry Cottle, on the other hand, began at SG in 2015. He led the team’s efforts to enter Sports Betting and iLottery by acquiring NYX/OpenBet. The revenue growth doubled in just over two years.
Together, the executives have good things to say about collaboration within the company. And there’s no doubt that Cottle, will continue making SG even better! We want to wish him the best of luck in his new role.
