The jackpot payouts until the end of August reached, or surpassed, the annual figures from previous years. Which means that casinos have changed many many lifeís!

Breaking the record in 8 months

In 2017, the state casinos paid out $20.2 million in jackpots. A year before this number was slightly higher at 21.96 million. Finally, 2015 saw the state casinos payout 20.89 million. Granted, the data only includes annual jackpot wins of $50,000 or higher.

Also, the entry of two new casinos also did help to reach the record. At least partially, as Hard Rock AC reported two jackpot winners since it opened in June. But Ocean Resorts had no winner of a jackpot over $50,000 so far.Borgata Casino

The most jackpots. And the biggest

Borgata, AC’s biggest casino, gave away the most jackpots, 56 to be precise. These jackpots amount to $5.197 million that Borgata paid out on jackpots so far this year. In the second place, came Caesars with 41 and third Tropicana with 22 jackpots reported.

Out of the nine casinos in the state, only one paid out a jackpot higher than $1 million in 2018. Indeed, Harrah’s gave away $1.67 million to one lucky winner. The player staked $0.25 on the Wheel of Fortune Pink Diamond machine. And went home with his pockets filled! Similarly, Harrah’s awarded the second highest jackpot in the state. This time a lucky online player took home the prize of $687,785 on the Gods of Gold game.
