February was a huge month for New Jersey’s online casino operators. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to break another monthly record since there were only 28 days last month. But that’s alright because the totals for those four weeks were much higher than the year before. In fact, February marks six months of consecutive growth. So, it’s quite apparent now that online casinos are getting more popular by the month. Indeed, this is undoubtedly true for none other than the Golden Nugget and Resorts Casino Hotel.

Analyzing the Numbers
During February, online casino and poker revenue in the Garden State grew to $31.75 Million. With 9.7% fewer days than the month before, it would have only taken another day to break January’s record of $33.6 Million. However, that didn’t happen, but it’s still all good because revenue was still up 44% YOY. So when you look at it that way, last month was definitely a win-win for the local casino industry. Furthermore, February’s overall figures were the second highest than any other month since the launch of online casinos in NJ. Also, the Golden Nugget remained dominant across all online channels. At $10.7 Million, it’s the third month in a row that they’re pulling in eight-figures.
Online Casino on the Rise
In terms of internet gambling in NJ, $44.6 Million comes from online casino games, poker, and sports betting. These totals represent 23% of the overall $197 Million that comes from the NJ gambling industry. Moreover, online sports betting slightly trumped brick-and-mortar betting, so that’s a pretty good sign for digital sportsbooks and casinos. After Golden Nugget and Resorts, the Borgata came in third place with $4.5 Million. Next, Caesars banked $4.3 Million coming in fourth. Finally, Ocean Resort took in $483,508 in February. Looking ahead, it’s going to be exciting to see what happens in March. Stay tuned, this is a story that gets more, and more exciting with each passing month.
