New Jersey Cracking Down on Unlicensed Activity

New Jersey officials continue to crack down on whoever promotes illegal gaming websites. In fact, the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) reprimanded an affiliate site for a promotional violation this week. The move is a show of force to let promoters know that advertising illegal, offshore online gambling is unacceptable.

The second crackdown

According to the DGE, they sent a letter to the promoter warning them of the consequences for violating NJ’s Casino Control Act. The Act states that affiliates don’t have the authorization to work alongside illegal offshore brands. The DGE also warned that some casinos featured on the promoter’s site violated state and federal laws. In fact, the irresponsible promoter gave NJ players the opportunity to access illegal games. And this is a clear break of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006.

The decision to enforce measures comes as no surprise. NJ has some of the strictest regulations in the world. So by all means, if a website steps out of bounds, the DGE will come knocking at their door! This is the second fine issued by the DGE. The fines aim to protect casino players from non-compliant offshore sports betting bookmakers.

Keeping It Clean

DGE New Jersey Cracking Down on Unlicensed ActivityThere are many sites on the internet that are promoting online casinos in New Jersey. But the truth is that not all of them are serious as you can see. In fact, as a casino player, it’s your responsibility to make sure the sites you play on comply with the DGE. Otherwise, you could face a penalty. Or worst not receive the winnings you’re entitled to!

Keep in mind that as a rule of thumb, all serious casino promoters in NJ need to receive the seal of approval of the DGE before a site goes live. And serious promoters are very proud of that. By law, those who have the green light to operate in NJ need to put a note on their website footer. Just like we do on This note means that you can trust the information and casinos you’ll find on this site.
