Atlantic City’s biggest casino serves up the Savor Borgata Culinary Series. These dining events are perfect for foodies and cocktail lovers.
The Whiskey at the Grille event was last April 20th. It was at Borgata’s Wolfgang Puck American Grille. Here, guests tried the legendary chef’s culinary creations from around the globe. The Grille’s Executive Chef, Aram Mardigian prepared the meal. Whiskeys from around the world enhanced the five courses.
Dishing up upscale comfort food
Wolfgang Puck has been changing the way Americans cook and eat for decades. He combines formal French techniques with Asian- and California-influenced esthetics. He uses the best quality ingredients possible.
For example, at this last whiskey pairing event guests ate Smoked Japanese Toro Pastrami with Jefferson’s Ocean Aged at Sea Cask Strength Bourbon.
There was also veal tortellini and smoked duck breast with whiskey-glazed cherries. Following this was a mouthwatering 60-day whiskey dry-aged rib-eye steak. Oh my! Finally, dessert was a cheese and chocolate duo. Its pair was a Lagavulin Distiller’s Edition Islay Single Malt Scotch and Redbreast 15 Year Old Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey.
It’s a shame any of us missed that meal.

The Borgata will host more events like this. In fact, the Old Homestead will celebrate the eve of the Kentucky Derby on May 4th. In light of this, brothers Greg and Mark Sherry are planning a four-course meal paired with Russell’s Reserve Bourbon.
Sadly there are no more tickets for the May 5th first anniversary lunch at Angeline’s. But do stop by the restaurant at 15h30 for a book signing by Iron Chef Michael Symon.
