International online gaming companies join American Gaming Association

On March 26th, the AGA published a press release to announce three new international members. Indeed, GVC holdings, Paddy Power Betfair and PokerStars joined the board of the AGA.

Who is the AGA?

In case you didn’t know the AGA is the leading lobbying group behind Sports Betting in NJ. The AGA is also supporting other states in their legalization efforts. You’ll remember that the AGA once endorsed online casinos NJ before they went live.

The addition of these three members is promising since NJ is on the verge of legalizing Sports Book. It’s even more impressive since the Stars Group and the AGA are teaming up.

If you remember, in 2013, the AGA opposed to PokerStars joining the NJ iGaming industry. Well, that ship has long sailed, since PokerStars is, as you know, a 100% legal casino in NJ. Also, the AGA and PokerStars association is only possible because PokerStars owners change. As you’re aware, PokerStars is now owned by the much respected Amaya Group.International online gaming companies join American Gaming Association

Following the news Geoff Freeman, president, and CEO of AGA commented.

“More than ever before, AGA’s diverse membership reflects the broad interests of the casino gaming industry.”

And interest there’s a lot of when it comes to online gaming! Currently, MI, NY, WV, CO, and LA are considering legalizing online betting in the next year or so. Well, that is the rumor…

Perhaps the AGA’s latest recruits are looking to position themselves favorably. It’s a wise move no doubt! Especially since more states want to jump on the bandwagon of the fast-moving train that is iGaming. Who knows?

Anyhow, this is very good news since these companies are leaders and pioneers in their own rights. For sure, their vast knowledge will be a great addition to the AGA’s team.
