IGT wants a Slice of New Jersey’s Pie

Every news nowadays, only confirm how the SportsBetting industry is thriving in New Jersey. In fact, it seems that more and more operators and content aggregators develop solutions to cater to the market. A market that is as of today, more or less dominated by 2 players Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) and Scientific Games (SG) Openbet platform.

IGT wants a Slice of New Jersey’s Pie

But now it seems that another gambling giant, IGT, wants a slice of the pie. And they’ve even announced significant progress with their product PlaySports.

Supporting 9 States

Without a doubt, has more states are open to the idea of SportsBetting. The market will get tougher and new technologies will emerge too. At the moment 13 States accept sports wager. And IGT offers its PlaySports solution in 9 of them.

In total IGT’s Self Service terminals are available in 150 kiosks around America. And according to Enrico Drago, IGT Senior VP, IGT’s product expansion is only the beginning. In fact, the company is banking on the product’s versatility to adapt to customers’ demand. The company has also made significant development. Meaning that PlaySports can accept bets on mobile devices. And also over the counter bets in retail shop and brick and mortar casino.

Better late than never

As mentioned above, until recently, the Sports platform industry had 2 main players, SG and GiG. And top tier operators such as Hard Rock casino, Unibet and the Golden Nugget use them.

Granted that according to IGT they were market-ready from day 1. But the company’s marketing efforts means that they appear to be late for the party. But maybe it’s a good thing, as the marker shift some operators may be inclined to try a new platform.

After all, IGT’s games are already available in both online and offline casinos. So maybe it’s only a matter of flipping a switch. At least one would think so… And with new products come new opportunities. And hopefully even more compelling odds for New Jersey Punters.
