Atlantic City has been hit pretty hard recently. The government ordered the closure of all casinos as of March 16th. And this until further notice. However, it seems that some Atlantic City hotels are still taking reservations.
Indeed, the Hard Rock is accepting bookings from May 28th, 2020 onward. Plus, Tropicana, Caesars, and Resorts Casino Hotels will be starting from June 7th. Next will be Ocean Casino Resort, which had previously canceled all of its commitment with guests up until June 14th. But, it’s due to start retaking online reservations as of June 15th.

Business doesn’t stop for Hard Rock
A spokesperson for Hard Rock stated that the hotel had never stopped taking bookings during the pandemic. Yet, it will keep assessing what is going on and whether it can honor these reservations based on the restrictions in place.
Plus, they confirmed that they wouldn’t reopen the hotel before they can reopen the casino as well.
A spokesperson for Caesars, on the other hand, confirmed that it too plans on reopening the business as soon as it’s allowed. All and all, by selling rooms, it’s making sure that it has business to get back to. However, he did confirm that just because they are taking reservations. This does not mean that they are any closer to knowing when they can fully reopen.
Getting Ready for Business
Government rules have allowed hotels to stay open under restrictions by Governor Phil Murphy. Yet to stay cautious, most casino hotels closed their doors on March 16th and focused on their online activity until now.
At the moment, there are no plans to lift the restrictions, but hotels are already making plans to keep customers safe when they reopen their doors. There will be measures such as more cleaning and contactless check-in. These have been tough times in Atlantic City, and they’ll be looking forward to getting back to business as soon as possible.
