2018 was an exciting year in New Jersey. Although predictions are, 2019 is going to be much more exciting. In fact, 2019 is going to be the first year where we’ll see the real impact of SportsBook in the garden state!
So if you thought 2018 was a big year, then wait until you see what this year brings! To begin with, Hard Rock will launch its first-ever sportsbook alongside GiG. In fact, we already knew that Hard Rock had selected GIG has their official Sportsbook platform, but now they’re partnering up with another major European player!

Let’s get this right! GiG is Hard Rocks main sports betting partner. GiG also powers Hard Rocks online casino platform. However, Bet365 brings a lot to the table. After all, they’re the top sportsbook in the world with more than $3 billion in annual revenue! Unfortunately, it’s not 100% clear at this stage what exactly they’ll be providing Hard Rock that GiG can’t already do.
You may remember, last year Bet365 and Hard Rock partnered up through Hillside LLC in NJ. Which, is an affiliate of Bet365. A month later, the DGE approved the partnership, but for only six months. Although business is just getting underway, the DGE granted both companies an extension to do business in 2019.
Hard Rock Sportsbook Going Forward
In conclusion, Hard Rock will have a sportsbook in a matter of weeks. So for those who think it’s too late, think again. The truth is, there’s still a lot of time for sports action. For example, the NBA All-Star game is on Feb 17th, 2019. Also, the NBA playoffs jump off April 13th and the Championship game in June. Not to mention, the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs start at the beginning of April.
And just to start the year off right, MLB begins March 20th. So as you can see, there’s still a lot of action in the lineup for early 2019. On that note, stay tuned as this is definitely going to get very exciting!
