MSG has just announced that it has signed an agreement to make FanDuel the official gaming partner for the top US sports teams, New York Knicks and the New Jersey Devils broadcasts on its networks. As a part of this deal, there will be plenty of in-game and half-time integrations. This will include plenty of branded content as well as commercial spots. There will also be mini-shows and commercials that will air during all of the NY Knicks and NJ Devil game broadcasts.
Part of this will include ads that will be aired during both teams’ pre-game and post-game shows. Plus, the Devils telecast will display all of the most recently updated odds and all betting updates in every intermission as well.
A Step Forward
This is a huge step forward for the industry and the network. The Senior Vice President of MSG Networks, Kevin Marotta, described how he was “excited to partner with FanDuel. He went on to say that this gives the audience a “deeper way to engage with our game coverage.
FanDuel’s CMO, Mike Raffensperger was equally as excited about it. He explained that this allows them to “further enhance the viewing and sports betting experience for fans”. With the market growing at such a rate, this has become all the more important. They are now leading the way in terms of operators integrating successfully with broadcasts in order to enhance everyone’s overall experience.
The Pre-Show for the Pre-Shows
Part of the deal includes a new 5-minute show that MSG created, “Inside the Lines”. They will play this before every Knicks pre-game show. This will give the viewers a look at everything that’s going on with NBA betting. As well as this, there is a speedy 1-minute focus show they will play before all the Devil’s pre-game shows. In essence, ‘Line to Line’ will give the audience a quick glance at NHL betting lines in the league.
