The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has made a massive donation of 30,000 meals to charities. The casino has given these meals to many local South Jersey non-profit organizations. This move follows Borgata’s temporary closure due to the current global health crisis. The crisis hitting the US and the world is enormous. Yet, Borgata wishes to make sure that it plays its part by helping out the local communities. So, as a result, it has given away around 35,000 pounds of fresh food. This equates to about 30,000 meals. Some of these charities include The Community Food Bank of NJ and The Boys & Girls Club of AC.

Helping Out the Boys and Girls
As a result of the donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, over 1,000 families have received produce such as fruit and vegetables, salads, bread, juice, milk and more. As well as fresh food, they’ve also made around 250 sandwiches. Plus, they’ve put together about 200 bags of groceries for employees to give out. This donation is essential for charities at this time. Indeed, this charity aims to give young people from all backgrounds the resources to become caring adults. To meet their goal, in July 209, they opened the MGM Resorts International Teen Center. The owner of MGM Resorts and the Borgata invested $500,00 into the project. Now, this center uses its impressive kitchen to let teenagers prepare meals for their families.
The Community Food Bank of New Jersey
One other charity to benefit is The Community Food Bank of NJ. The southern branch of this charity teams up with another 250 local organizations to help the community. Clearly, this has been a very important charity during this crisis. As such, it has given out food donated by Borgata to other charities. These include the John Brooks Recovery Center, the Salvation Army and more. In fact, it is the biggest anti-hunger and anti-poverty charity in NJ. This is a difficult time for all, but the Borgata is hoping to make a difference.
