BetMGM, the sports betting co-project of MGM Resorts and GVC Holdings, has brought Richard Taylor as the new Responsible Gambling Program Manager. In essence, they’ve created the role as a sign of their ongoing support of Responsible Gambling.
Before this, Taylor worked as the Executive Director of Responsible Gaming and Military Affairs at MGM Resorts. In this role, Taylor had many duties. Indeed, his main job was to lead the responsible gaming program, GameSense. However, he also had responsibility for creating the Military and Veterans Program.

Building a Healthy Mindset
Now, in his new job, Taylor will be responsible for leading the development of BetMGM’s responsible gaming platform. Plus, he’ll ensure that they keep on building an easy to use program.
Without a doubt, emphasizing responsible play is vital in the online gambling industry.
Promoting responsible gaming means that patrons adopt a healthy mindset from the get-go. What’s more, it also makes sense financially. Indeed, problem gamblers cost a lot of money to a business and society in the long run. And Taylor understands this. Hence, he’ll share his knowledge with employees, and he’ll create a bespoke training program that’ll help them identify risks too.
A Positive Experience
Taylor said that he is both “humbled and honored” to join the BetMGM team and help lead the Responsible Gaming Program. He says that this is now a “critical time” for the industry. As such, he wants to make sure they offer the “safest experience possible” for their players.
On top of this, the SVP at MGM Resorts, Stephen Martino, said that the company commits itself to Responsible Gaming in their casino and sportsbook. As such, he says that he’s “proud of how GameSense has grown” and how it helps to educate both staff and guests. This should help to ensure that they always enjoy a “positive gambling experience,” he believes.
When the fun stops, stop
There’s never been a more critical time to focus on responsible gambling. As online gambling revenue ramps out, providing online assistance is vital. We all know that many offline casinos have face-to-face contact, which can help those in need. Yet, the same practice also needs to apply to the online section.
So, this is an important role that’ll make a big difference not only in the company’s finances and reputation with time. But it could also save lives, and responsible gambling programs aim to help those in distress.
